Veterans and military service members come from all walks of life, and therefore have non-military or VA disability legal needs, both during and after service. However, for some legal issues, there are unique benefits and laws available to veterans and service members that are not available to non-veteran civilians dealing with the same legal issue. These benefits and laws can play an important role and are an important advocacy tool in representing veterans in non-military-related areas of law.
This program provides insight for practitioners of criminal law, family law, estate planning and elder law as to how these unique military-related benefits and laws intersect with non-military practice areas, and how they can be used to better advocate for a client who is a veteran or service member.
