Basics of Estate Planning


Starting off with a definition, this session identifies the fundamental goals and objectives of estate planning, explores forms of ownership and beneficiary designations, and explains the significance of title.

It also reviews the different types of wills (including living wills) and powers of attorney (including durable powers of attorney and health care powers of attorney), statutory alternatives to wills, and basic transfer tax concepts.
