The 2022 Basics of Elder and Special Needs Law program offers a foundational knowledge base for building an elder and special needs law practice.

Attendees receive practical guidance on the basics of elder and special needs planning and Medicaid eligibility, with a focus on the following learning objectives:

  • Understanding the basics of Medicaid eligibility and introductory planning techniques
  • Locating and analyzing relevant statutes, regulations, rules, and resources for public benefits planning
  • Learning the basics of guardianship law and gaining insight into potential changes on the horizon
  • Gaining a working knowledge of other publicly available benefits and how they fit into an elder and special needs law practice
  • Using applicable case studies to help see the "bigger picture" of how the various facets of elder and special needs planning fit together
