EMerge: Updates and Merger & Acquisition (M&A) Hot Topics (2023 Business Law Section Program)

The NCBA Business Law Section is once again hosting its annual February CLE in person, but this year it is being held at an exciting new venue in Charlotte.

The emphasis of this year's program is hot topics in mergers and acquisitions arising as the business community emerges from a difficult couple of years. But as with Business Law Section programs in prior years, this CLE covers a variety of topics that are designed to help every attorney — new or seasoned — gain skills and knowledge to immediately improve their practice and the service they provide to their clients.

On day one, learn about important topics in negotiating and structuring transactions, from pre-purchase agreements to diligence to tax issues. Day two covers topics ranging from purchase agreements to special issues in nonprofit mergers and acquisitions, and it also features the annual case law update.

INCLUDED SESSIONS

  • The "Stuff" Before the Purchase Agreement
  • M&A Due Diligence Overview and Best Practices
  • Avoiding Pitfalls and Maximizing Value Through Strategic Tax Planning in M&A Transactions
