The Relationship of Copyrights to Other Types of Intellectual Property

Even though most IP practitioners do not concentrate on copyright law, there is often a critical interplay between copyright law and other branches of IP law. In this regard, copyright law can have valuable (or costly) ramifications for the protection and development of an entity's overall IP position.

This session examines aspects of copyright law that overlap with other types of IP rights, including trademarks, trade secrets, patents and rights of publicity.
