Reforming Juvenile Justice: Raise the Age and School Justice Partnerships

On December 1, 2019, NC's "Raise the Age" law became effective, changing the way that 16- and 17-year-olds are prosecuted for most crimes. This session provides a brief overview of the new law and addresses how it impacts youth in our state by reducing the number of youths who are charged as adults and expanding school justice partnerships throughout the state.
